Thinkfest has brought together experts and authoritative commentators from around the country, in a first of it's kind event in Bangalore. Below is a short biography of our esteemed speakers.

Namit Arora

 


Namit Arora is an essayist, travel photographer, documentary filmmaker, and former internet technologist. He grew up in Gwalior and attended IIT Kharagpur. After more than twenty years in the U.S. and Europe, he moved to Delhi in 2013. His web home is at

Kalpana Karunakaran



K. Kalpana is Assistant Professor at the Humanities and Social Sciences Department, IIT Madras. Her research area is in development studies.

An activist-organizer with the Tamil Nadu Science Forum (TNSF), a member organization of the All India People’s Science Network (AIPSN), 

Her PhD research on gender, poverty and microcredit in rural Tamil Nadu was conducted at the Madras Institute of Development Studies (MIDS), Chennai. Currently, besides ongoing research projects, Kalpana teaches courses in Women's Studies, Decentralization, Governance and Development Studies at IIT Madras.
